New to Hospice Nursing and Looking for Support?
Every Hospice Nurse Deserves Encouragement.
You spend your days caring for patients and families
at the sunset of their lives.
You don’t have to carry this work alone.
This space was created to
encourage, support, and equip you
as you grow in your hospice nursing journey.
Whether you've just been hired or you're considering hospice nursing, you're in the right place.
Maybe this is the work you’ve always felt drawn to. But now that you’re here, the questions start flooding in:
Can I really do this?
Will I know what to say?
How do I handle the hard days?
You’re not alone. I’ve been right where you are — and so have many others.
If you’re looking for steady encouragement and practical guidance as you begin your hospice journey, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
That’s why I wrote Sunset Angels…
As a seasoned hospice nurse, I’ve had the privilege of orienting many new nurses as they joined our team. Some stayed, but many moved on.
I found myself asking, Why does this keep happening?
Out of that frustration, I thought back to my own early days in hospice and began writing what I wish someone had told me when I was just starting out.
This book is the result.
The goal of this book…
The first year of hospice nursing is often the hardest.
It's the season when you learn not only how to care for patients and families, but also how to care for yourself. It can be both challenging and frustrating.
My hope is that Sunset Angels will help you grow as a hospice RN case manager in confidence, find encouragement on difficult days, and remind you that you are never alone in this work.
Sunset Angels is my contribution to your success as a hospice nurse.
Inside these pages, you’ll find real experiences, reflections and encouragement to help you navigate the emotional and human side of hospice care.
You may not know this yet, but you are a gift to your patients and their families.
If you’re looking for guidance, reassurance, or simply a companion in this work, I invite you to read Sunset Angels.
